<aside> 💡 We understand that finding affordable, short-term housing can be tough in certain areas. And, a simple Google search can be frustrating as the most expensive options tend to pop up first. Check the options below for more details. International Staff - check the Housing and Accommodations page for more information.

Training takes place in person in Denver Colorado or California according to your program (Day Camp, Overnight Camps or Expeditions) . All Overnight and Expedition Staff (including non-international) camp together for staff training and are provided all meals during this time. If you are a staff attending training at a different location from where you live, housing and food will also be provided during training
At Overnight camps programs (Blue Sky and Windy Peak), expect to sleep in cabins sharing with co-workers and campers**.** All Overnight Residential Camp staff live onsite in cabins alongside other staff and campers and are provided food all summer long. Check our Blue Sky Overnight Camp & Windy Peak Overnight Camp pages for more info.
At Expeditions programs expect to be sleeping in tents, with no access to showers and running water. Expedition Staff have the option to stay at our Camp Blue Sky location between programs and are provided room and board during this time. Many staff choose to stay in the Denver/Boulder area or go on other adventures during their time off (typically on Friday Night & Saturday). You will be expected to provide your own housing/meals if you choose not to stay at Camp Blue Sky. Check our Colorado Expeditions California Expeditions pages for more info.
Avid does not provide housing/food for Day Camp programs, however, we do have a list of housing options that staff have used and/or recommended in the past. Check below for local and nationally-available housing options (and let us know if you know of any other resources you’d like to recommend!)
