All Overnight and Expedition Staff (including non-international) camp together for staff training and are provided camp gear and all meals during this time. Check our Training: What to Expect page for more details!
At Overnight camps programs (Blue Sky Overnight Camp and Windy Peak Overnight Camp), expect to sleep in cabins sharing with co-workers and campers**.** All Overnight Residential Camp staff live onsite in cabins alongside other staff and campers and are provided food all summer long.
At Expeditions programs expect to be sleeping in tents, with no access to showers and running water. Colorado Expeditions staff is welcomed to stay at Camp Blue Sky between sessions. ****Expedition Staff have the option to stay at our Camp Blue Sky location between programs and are provided room and board during this time. Many staff choose to stay in the Denver/Boulder area or go on other adventures during their time off (typically on Saturday). You will be expected to provide your own housing/meals if you choose not to stay at Camp Blue Sky.
Staff are responsible for acquiring their own accommodation when not on contract with Avid4 Adventure. It’s recommended to book ahead of the summer time to ensure availability. Consider getting a place with cancellation options so it allows for flexibility. It is difficult to get to places without driving or requires a rideshare/bus trip.
Prices range from $60-95 USD for hostel beds (shared accommodations). Here are some hostel recommendations within 30 mins - 1 hour away from your Expedition location. Feel free to check out on hostelworld.com or your favorite hostel booking website.
