Required Certifications

Day Camps - Basic First Aid & CPR (in person courses only)

Overnight Camp Blue Sky - Basic First Aid & CPR (in person courses only)

Overnight Camp Windy Peak - WFA or WFR for some positions (in person / hybrid courses only)

Expeditions - WFA or WFR (in person / hybrid courses only)

Other required certifications - Due to compliance standards, all staff should take the following courses: Standard Precautions, Mandatory Reporter and Leave no Trace.

They are all free and there will be a link available in your WorkBright account to access them. Make sure to submit the certifications before training/camp starts!

Does Avid4 pay for required certifications?

• Camp Directors: YES! We reimburse 50% of the cost for WFR immediately and then reimburse the other 50% after completion of your second summer as a Director.
• Assistant Directors & Instructors: We do not pay for the certification
• CPR: No. We do not pay for this certification.
• Community/Basic First Aid: No. We do not pay for this certification.

How do I get Certified?

California- First Aid and CPR Courses

• Click on this Red Cross site to access classes specific to San Francisco. You can also choose a location closer to you by selecting your desired city on the left hand side. Please DO NOT select the “online only” class as we cannot accept the certification.
• The AHA ****provides classes on CPR and AED. Choose the Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and AED course to complete your required certification.
• Ouch! Is an American Heart Association CPR and First Aid provider.
