This is a typical day for an Instructor position. This schedule is subject to change and varies according to position.

8:30 AM-9:00 AM | Greet parents and campers, Campers sign in, Facilitate morning circle, Gear check & fit, Drive to rec site |
9:30 AM | Unload gear at rec site, Have a snack, Do an environmental briefing & Start Core Sport Activity |
10:30 AM | Play a game, Skills progression, Drink Water! |
11:30 PM | Lunch, Incorporate LNT, reapply sunscreen |
12:30 PM | Continue Core Sport Activity |
2:30 PM | Head back to Trailhead |
2:45 PM | Load gear, Drive back to Base Camp |
3:00-3:15 PM | Debrief the day with group, Talk to Parents as campers are get signed out for the day! |
3:15-3:30 PM | Leave for the day! |
Overview
Our Menlo Park, California summer camps teach Pre-K – 12th graders of every ability a whole range of exciting outdoor adventures, including mountain biking, stand up paddleboarding, climbing and more. We introduce them to the area’s stunning parks, trails and mountains empowering them for an active outdoor lifestyle

Menlo College has a special program for partnering organizations that function out of their campus where program employees have the option to rent out rooms for the Summer. Avid along with three organizations have been invited to have their staff rent dorm rooms on campus making housing and commuting a breeze! Learn more about housing.
